Helvetica was born in 1957 at the Haas Type Foundry in Munzenstein, Switzerland. Reflecting the practicality required by society in the 1950s, it was created as a typeface that is faithful to function rather than decorative, and is widely used from the public design of the country to the digital interface of today's Apple products.
