FRAME was founded in Amsterdam in 1997. At the time, the creators worked at a local interior design magazine and felt it was time for a new approach: a creative, bold voice with a global perspective. A magazine that would bring curated inspiration from Japanese designers to the Netherlands – and back again. When these ideas didn’t resonate with their employer, they decided to venture out on their own. FRAME Magazine was born, giving interior designers around the world a space of their own.
