Nordic cities are renowned for promoting accessibility to green spaces, both in terms of preserving natural landscapes and establishing green public spaces in highly developed urban areas. Yet multiple pressures threaten access to such spaces, from policies that are further commodifying land to intra-urban spatial disparities due to ethnic or economic segregation. ‘Green Visions’ explores and evaluates the historical pathways, contemporary development, and future outlook for the planning, design, and policymaking of green and recreational cities in Nordic regions. While navigating today’s urban challenges and preparing for uncertain futures, it offers a vision for sustainable planning and design.
