The climate crisis is also a crisis of the imagination.

In Earthshine – An Essay on Watershed Imagining landscape architect Stefan Darlan Boris takes the reader on an atmospheric journey through garden cinema, green caves and shining landscapes along the Aire River outside Geneva, Switzerland. Retracing the iconic 21st century river transformation project by Georges Descombes and Superpositions, the essay asks how we might reimagine rivers as life terrains and see watersheds as a common ground in a new climatic regime.

The essay includes a series of never before published river drawings by landscape architect Georges Descombes.
