This edition of the yearbook provides insight into the design of the Dutch environment in 20 projects that are as timely as they are remarkable. Notable themes include renewal and transformation of 20th-century city districts; the softening of inner cities, and research into systemic change. The “long run” is also discussed: projects created with a strong sense of consistency over an extended period of time. Finally, this edition focuses on connections in the urban realm achieved through good design. Essays and a portrait complete the selection. The yearbook is compiled by an independent committee of professionals in collaboration with the editors of ‘Blauwe Kamer’ magazine.
